How to use RideTogether for a motorcycle group ride
Starting a group ride takes only a few steps. No app-store installation is required.
- Create or join the ride. Enter your rider name. The leader creates a named ride, then shares the six-character code, QR code or invitation link with the group.
- Set the shared route. The leader chooses the destination before departure. Riders can keep RideTogether open and optionally hand normal navigation to Google Maps.
- Enable live sharing. Each rider chooses when to tap Start live sharing. Riders can also mark themselves Ready before the group leaves.
- Use the group tools while riding. Group Health shows pack spread and possible separation. Use quick status buttons, Lost Rider alerts, Second-Man Drop, Smart Regroup, fuel planning and Weather Ahead when needed.
- Finish the ride. When everyone arrives, the leader ends the ride. Live sharing stops, and any private family tracking link can be disabled or rotated.

Can I track riders in a motorcycle group?
Yes. Riders who enable live sharing appear on the group map. RideTogether can show pack spread, riders who are falling behind, riders who appear off route and whether a rider has stopped or reported a problem.
Does RideTogether work with Google Maps?
Yes. RideTogether uses free OpenStreetMap-based mapping inside the app and can hand destinations, regroup points, fuel searches and separated-rider locations to Google Maps through official Maps URLs.
Do riders need to install an app?
No app-store installation is required. RideTogether runs as a mobile-friendly web app and can be added to a phone home screen as a Progressive Web App. GPS permission and HTTPS are required for live location sharing.
Can family members follow a group ride?
Yes. The ride leader can create a private read-only family tracking link. Family viewers can see current ride progress and only the riders who are actively sharing their location.
Is RideTogether free?
RideTogether is free to use on SchengenSure. Its default map and routing stack uses open or free services, while optional Google Maps handoff uses normal Google Maps URLs rather than an embedded paid Maps API.
